Our operations are certified with the ISO 9001 quality certificate, ISO 14001 environmental certificate, and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety certificate, as well as the EcoVadis Gold rating. We are a member of amfori BSCI and are committed to responsible sourcing and compliance with the UN Code of Conduct.
We are part of the Climate Commitment of the Finland Chamber of Commerce and calculate the carbon footprint of our operations annually. We work systematically to identify new emission reduction opportunities and to reduce our overall emissions.
We ensure that our products are produced responsibly and ecologically. We calculate the carbon footprint of our in-stock products using a tool developed for our industry, verified by Bureau Veritas. To offset the emissions from our stock products, we participate in a Gold Standard-certified clean water project in Uganda.
We aim to be the most responsible company in our field. In May 2025, we joined the UN Global Compact Network Finland. Participating in the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative supports us on our journey toward more sustainable business practices.
We are committed to supporting and implementing the ten principles of corporate responsibility and to promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. From these goals, we have selected the ones most relevant to us, which we advance alongside our other sustainability objectives.
In recognition of our sustainability efforts, Mastermark has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Certificate for the second consecutive year. EcoVadis is the world’s most recognized and respected sustainability certification. Out of 2 million companies that have applied for the EcoVadis certificate, 130,000 companies across 180 countries have been certified. The EcoVadis Gold Certificate is awarded to only 5% of all certified companies.
The EcoVadis certificate is granted to the top 35% of all companies that apply, with four levels of certification: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. EcoVadis evaluates companies based on criteria related to climate, environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and procurement. The methods and ratings used in the evaluation are based on international sustainability standards such as the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the ISO 26000 standard.
Despite increasingly stringent annual requirements, Mastermark aims to achieve the Platinum level, which is attained by only 1% of companies globally.
